This week has been hard… it’s been a slog… I'm behind in everything and have been searching for a way to make it easier, a short cut, a cheat sheet - anything to lessen the load.
We all have those days when writing from the heart is too hard, too raw, too painful.
We all have those days when feelings lie buried. We ignore the tell-tale ring of the bell as if it’s a door-to-door salesman—we turn up the radio, edge away from the curtains, and hide away from reality to protect ourselves from catastrophe.
On days like this, I write from the hollowness between my ribs, pulling words from the void and collating sentences upon paper. I write from my heels, dug in, carefully choosing consonants and vowels and etching them deep in ink.
These diversions lead me from the ache in my heart and the turbulence of my mind, for even the mightiest of bards would struggle to pull the threads of thought from my mind. I soldier on, switch the gears, fade out, detach, and attempt to string another synonym upon another sentence.
It’s tough when everything feels like a slog, but you’re stronger than you realize. Take a moment to breathe, find small wins, and trust yourself. You’ve got this, even when it’s hard.
Beautiful stated!
