I️ appreciate how this is a confession, but told slant…because we never truly know the crimes or deeds. I️ really enjoyed this poem and the art work with the quotes.
Thank you for sharing! So glad I️ found you today.
I thought the poem started as an instruction and then it leads me into a poem. Beautifully done! You've given the poem the first person voice somehow, and the typewriter and then the narrator. I hear these three distinct voices and then hidden there is the child, searching. Loved it and of course the quotes are all masterpieces as is the art. I need to stop being so nice! (Joking.) And I see the Plath quote you used!
I interpret your poem two different ways, Carolyn. My first impression was that each poem is written first for the poet not knowing how it will be received. I then pictured some of the deeply personal poems that I’ve written that are never meant to see the light of day. Either way, thanks for sharing. I truly enjoyed this.
A wonderfully descriptive piece, these words evoking feelings of empathy in the reader, as they gaze through this open window on to a seemingly troubled soul.. (just my impression, anyway). Thank you for sharing.
Wonderful poem. I️ love the imagery, especially
“blameless pages,
staining their pristine whiteness
with the dirt of my deeds,”

Just in my diary! Each rectangle is about 4cm x 12cm. 😍
